OBEDIENCE
WHAT HAPPENS: Obedience teaches you and your dog the basic commands as well as establish a bond between you and your dog, show you how to be a good leader. Your dog will learn to pay attention to you (now this should be reason enough to join!) sit, stay, walk on the lead (without pulling you), drop, stand and more! Obedience can be kept as a fun activity you and your dog do together which may lead to other activities or you could decide to compete.
WHAT DOGS DOES IT SUIT: Obedience, both general and competition is for all dogs and people. It is often considered a necessary activity to do once you have a pup, starting with puppy preschool. The only pre-requisite is that you dog or pup be vaccinated.
WHY DO IT: Obedience provides great learning for you and your dog, it shows you how to handle and “talk” to your dog and gives him great mental and physical stimulation. Obedience should be considered an unconditional part of owning a dog, it will make a huge difference in the life of you and your dog and will help prevent a lot of annoying habits your dog may have and it will also help you know how to deal with any little habits that may arise.
